Senior Vice President, Industrial Packaging the Americas
Jean-Michel Ribiéras joined International Paper in 1993 in sales management at a coated paper specialty mill in France. He held several leadership positions in Europe before becoming vice president of European Papers in 2002. In 2004, he was named vice president of International Paper’s pulp business and, in 2005, his responsibilities were expanded to include Converting Papers. He was named president of IP Latin America in 2009. During his time in Brazil, he served on the board for Bracelpa (Brazil Pulp and Paper Association) and the American Chamber of Commerce in São Paulo. In 2013, he became senior vice president and president of International Paper Europe, Middle East, Africa and Russia and served on the board of directors for European industry-association Copacel. In 2016, Jean-Michel became senior vice president of the Global Cellulose Fibers business and led the integration of Weyerhaeuser’s cellulose fibers business with International Paper’s pulp business. In 2017, his responsibilities were expanded to include International Paper Asia. Jean-Michel served on the board of directors for Ilim Group, a 50/50 joint venture between International Paper and Ilim Holding, from 2013-2017. In June 2018, he was named senior vice president, Industrial Packaging the Americas.
